BOX Baseball - Game 24 & 25 vs. Toronto

Game 24 - One game after fighting their way through Roy Halladay the BOX showed almost no fight against Dustin McGowan.  McGowan entered the game with a 13+ ERA and left the game 9 innings later allowing exactly zero runs.

We had one runner thrown out at the plate, one caught stealing, and one more erased on a double play. Those represented all the innings we had more than one baserunner.

Meanwhile, Laura gave up 2 runs on 4 hits in the 4th. The Blue Jays didn't exactly hit the ball hard, but they found the holes. It turns out almost all the holes were in the infield as the runs scored on an infield single and an rbi ground out.

Final Score-
Blue Jays 2
BOX 0

WP: McGowan (2-2)
LP: Laura (2-2)

Game 25 - Two games. Zero runs. This loss was even more frustrating.  The BOX didn't get their first hit until Werley dropped a bunt single in the sixth. Bob proceeded to steal second and there was a runner in scoring position with one out. Ken was up next and hit a line drive that ricocheted off Blue Jays' pitcher AJ Burnett, only to fall right into the glove of the second basement. It all happened so fast that Werley was doubled off second despite only being a few steps off the bag.  To make matters worse, Bob would have scored when the next hitter singled.

The Blue Jays only had 3 hits all night. The winning run reached base on an error by Joey, and went to third on a blooper to right. The run scored on a ground ball that would have been an inning ending double play if it had been hit harder. Becky was the hard luck loser.
